Oh boy, an FAQ. Now this is becoming a respectable blog!
About Equestria After Dark
What is Equestria After Dark?
Well, quite simply, Equestria After Dark is a blog that's dedicated to Rule 34 content for the characters of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It's mostly focused on fanfiction and images. It's meant to highlight content and provide an easy to use interface, and one that people are familiar with, for 'clop' content."Clop" content?
Yes. 'Clop' is the word used in the MLP fandom instead of the word "masturbate." It's meant to describe the sound of hooves hitting something, which doesn't actually make sense unless the pony clopping was using both hooves or had very hard skin. You crazy bronies! How is content selected?
If it ends up in my e-mail, there's a good chance it will be on the website. For Drawfiends, I usually scour places like ponibooru or rule34.net to get images, and sometimes I'll go through FiMFiction or the explicit Pony Fanfiction Archive for stories. How often do you update?
It's variable. Usually, though, I'll add at least 1 - 2 things per day, unless I get extra stories in my inbox out of nowhere. As of right now, things are a little slow!Where can I find content?
Usually just be scrolling through the homepage! However, if you're looking for something specific, there's an easy to use search bar for the website on the side bar. If you're looking for certain kinds of things, like just fanfiction or just Drawfiends, there are buttons at the top which will only show you posts of that kind. What are Popular Posts?
Popular Posts are posts that have the most pageviews. If you'll notice, most/all of them right now are Drawfiends, but that's okay! You'll be able to find the most viewed ones there. How can I help?
Content, content, content. That's really all I ask for. If you see a fic you like, or an image you like, or if you've created one of those things, e-mail it to me! The site lives and breathes on user contribution, so if you want it to be more active, give me things to post. You can send your submissions to equestriaafterdark@gmail.com.Why Blogger?
It just works, and Equestria Daily uses it. The format is nice, and it's very easy to set up posts and publish things. Are you affiliated with Equestria Daily?
Nope! While it may look similar, Equestria After Dark has no affiliation with Equestria Daily. Why? Well, multiple reasons. First, Equestria Daily is more of a 'PG-13' website, whereas this one is 'XXX'. Things would go wrong very quickly if this were linked anywhere near EQD. Second, Sethisto just doesn't do clop. I know, I've talked to him about it, and he was the one who said I could use Equestria After Dark for my own purposes. Heck, he also threw me a bit of publicity by advertising it on the old one!Who works on the website?
Well, there's me, Alexstrazsa. Then I have Daffodil, and - to a lesser extent - Nines Tempest.
Personal Information
A blog for My Little Pony porn? Really?
Yes, really. While it's not something I tell everyone I do, I feel it's needed. MLP Rule 34 is something that's out there, and with a fandom this large and active, it has to be organized and contained somewhere. This is that somewhere. I want to offer a place for you to come for your MLP smut.Does Equestria After Dark have a mascot like EQD?
Equestria Daily has The Great and Powerful Trixie. We have Princess Molestia, Chrysalis, and to a lesser extent, the Jelly Pony.
Terminology
Equestria After Dark's tagging system is a little more complicated than Equestria Daily, but that's only so viewers can identify what's what. Each story has 2+ tags, telling what it is. The tags are divided into the following categories: Gender, Kink, and General. More info below.
Gender:
M/M: Pairings between males.
M/F: Pairings between males and females.
F/F: Pairings between females.
Solo: A character by themselves
If there are pairings of more than two characters, the tag would look like M/M/F or F/F/M. Fairly self explanatory.
Kink:
These have to be supplied by the author/fic submitter. Basically, it's the general fetish that your fic appeals to. These tags will always be [orange]. If there is no kink, then there's no kink tag. Simple!
Story Categories:
Normal: Your normal, run of the mill clopfic. Just a basic story at heart.
Grimdark: These deal with darker themes such as rape, murder, suicide, drug use, and death.
Random: These are crazy stories that are odd, quirky, and usually funny.
Comedy: Stories that are humorous and make you laugh. Always fun!
Crossover: Stories that use other franchises or characters and mix them with MLP
Sad: These are stories that make you upset, sad, melancholy, depressed, etc.
Sci-fi: Anything involving space, advanced technology, robots, steampunk, lasers... you get the idea.
Adventure: Usually long stories that take the characters on an epic quest of sorts.
You may notice that 'shipping' is not one of these tags! Well, this is because Equestria After Dark focuses on fanfics that involve sex. Shipping is a given!
So, basically, when you submit a story, it will be something like:
[Grimdark] [F/F] [Rape] or [Comedy] [M/M] [Humanized]
Clop Rating:
The Clop Rating for each fic is a combination of the how graphic the content of a fic is and how much explicit content there is. For example, Romance Reports is a 5, because there is a lot of explicit content and it is heavily described. Plucked From The Air is a 3, because it is heavily story based, and the clop doesn't happen until near the very end. A Night He (Won't) Remember is merely a 1, because the content is very little, and only briefly mentioned.
Easy, but fun!

You should add a gay tag
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't m/f or solo, then it's pretty much gay.
DeleteDerp Derp :3
DeleteActually I do not like this tagging system at all. It may work fine for non-clop stories where they need to be vague to avoid spoilers, but in clopfiction I would much rather see the tags point out the type of clop content rather than the overall tone of the story.
ReplyDeleteLemon: Implied sex M/M
Lime: Implied sex F/F
M/M
F/F
M/F
Romance: Clop within relationships, rather than spontaneous
Kink: Sexual fetishism such as Bondage, BDSM, Spanking, Diapers, Watersports, etc.
Hunanized: For human versions of the ponies.
Humans: For Humans on regular ponies.
The Grimdark tag should be split into the following tags:
Extreme: For especially strong or dangerous fetishes or brutal action that is borderline grimdark like age regression, unbirthing, scat, dubcon (borderline rape) mind control, pain, necrophilia, etc.
Rape-Fantasy: For Hentai or Porno style rape scenes.
Rape-Realistic: For physically and emotionally realistic depictions of rape.
Snuff
Then there should also be the "Tone" tags for the overall feel of the story: "Normal", "Dark", "Sad", "War", "Random", "Comedy", "Crossover", "Sci-Fi", "Adventure", and "Sad" are all good but add:
Horror
Drama
Also I respect your decision to not host gore or foalcon, but honestly I would rather read a silly gore story or a consensual foalcon clop than a realistic rapefic.

Does this mean you are now willing to post stories not submitted by the original author?
@DPV111
ReplyDeleteTo your tag ideas, I'll consider the idea. I realize that I should have different tags, because stories appeal to different audiences and those with different interests. As for your second question, yes, I'll accept stories not submitted by the original author. However, if the author asks it to be removed, they will be permanently removed until the author says otherwise.
Yes. A faq' I like it. :3
ReplyDeleteHey, Alex? I'm getting a problem with the site. Might just be my computer, but I thought I'd let you know that I just can't seem to get into the posts. I click on the post title, the "Read More" button, the "Comments" button, and anything else that would allow me into said post, and I'm getting redirected to the Blogger "Mature Content" warning page, if it doesn't automatically move me onto a completely whited out page. I never had this problem before, and frankly, I'm surprised to hell I was able to get onto this page to post the comment, do you have any advice? (This goes for everyone else who might know what the hell is going on)
ReplyDeleteSgtnolisten: I'd try using another browser.
ReplyDelete@Sgtnolisten, try clearing your browse cache, closing your browser, re-opening your browser, and clear it again, then restart your computer, that usually works for me.
ReplyDeleteI would love to know how you actually read the freakin' stories.
ReplyDeletePlease add a section explaining the Clop-0, Clop-1, Clop-2 etc. numbers, thanks.
ReplyDeleteSaw a story with "light S+M" in the description. Any idea what this means? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLight sadomasochism, or light sadism and masochism.
DeleteHey Alex, I was curious as to if you were planning on adding some better methods of organizing/sorting searches and stuff. For example, sorting my most popular. I know that there is a sidebar that has that, but what about from inside a certain section or subcategory, like 'Fics' or 'Media'. There is not, as far as I can tell, any way to organize a subcategory to see the most popular or most read/viewed.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps!
~Aros
P.S. If you ever want any help with anything, I would be more than happy to oblige. Feel free to email me at Aros3007@gmail.com
Does Futa count as F or M?
ReplyDeleteIf a story includes foalcon, gore, or scat in a later chapter, is it removed from the site or do you just not give it any more updates?
Are you ever going to implement DPV's tag idea?
thanks,
CP
